FIRE IN KHYBER PASS
OUTBREAK AT OTAHUHU Fire in a greengrocer's shop at the corner of Khyber Pass and Seafield View Road, at about six o’clock last evening,* damaged two rooms. The City Brigade prevented the fire from spreading to the two-storeyed building. - The shop was occupied by Mrs. A. Hutchinson, and its contents were not insured. The building is insured in the Guardian Trust Office for £6OO. A six-roomed house in Niks.ii Road Otahuhu, owned and occupied by Mr. J. R. Boswell, was extensively damaged by a fire early yesterday morning. When the family was awakened by the smoke, the kitchen and washhouse were ablaze, and the Otahuhu brigade was called, and prevented any spread. The contents were damaged by smoke and water. The insurance on the house is £9OO, and on the furniture £SOO, both in the South British Office.
