WOMEN’S INSTITUTES

MEETING AT TE UKU A meeting was held in the Te Uku Hall on Friday to form a branch ot the Women’s Institute. Following an address on the aims of the organisation, an election officers took place. A demonstration of sealing wax craft was much appreciated. Afternoon tea concluded an enjoyable afternoon, PUKEKOHE BRANCH The monthly meeting of the Pukekolie Women’s Institute was held on Monday. Mrs. Hosking presided over a very large attendance, several new members being enrolled. Routine business was followed by a social entertainment, consisting of an amusing “Roll Call” and musical items, and Miss Wfly gave a very interesting demonstration of sealing-wax work. Supper and songs concluded the meeting. INTERESTING TALK AT TE ATATU There was a large attendance cf members at the monthly meeting of the Te Atatu Women’s Institute. ' Mrs. Chadwick presided and after business matters had been dealt with the Rev Air. Jellie gave a most interesting talk upon the Poet Laureate, John Masefield. Mrs. Peterson, of Swanson, played two pianoforte solos, and tea was serve.fl by Airs. Paten and Aliss Hopper.
