GROUP TRAFFIC CONTROL

SOUTH AUCKLAND DISTRICT HIGHWAYS BOARD’S ACTION Press Association HAMILTON, Today. Disappointment and surprise at the advice received from Mr. F. S. Dyson, district representative on the Main Highways Board, disapproving of the original scheme for group traffic control for the South Auckland district, was expressed by the Waikato County Council meeting today. All the counties and most of the local bodies in the Waikato had agreed t.o the scheme appointing five inspectors. Mr. T. B. Insoll, secretary of the group and clerk to the Waikato County, said the scheme was unanimously approved at a meeting of the Auckland Highways Council at which Mr. Dyson had written stating that the board would subsidise the wages and expenses of only two inspectors and considered that more were not warranted. “That means we revert to the status quo,” said Mr. Insoll, who added that he had circularised the other members of the group expressing his willingness to call another conference if they desired.
