SEDDON ANNIVERSARY
Twenty-fours years ago today Richard John Seddon died on the Oswestry Grange while returning from a visit to Australia. Mr. Seddon was Premier of New Zealand for more than 13 years, and his term of office as head of a Ministry is still a record in New Zealand politics. Mr. W. F. Massey's term as Prime Minister came within a few months of equalling it. There is a statue of Mr. Seddon in the Parliament Grounds, Wellington, and on the anniversary of his death wreaths are placed there.
