BLOOD THAT TELLS
The name of Wellington applied for by F. J. Smith to replace that of Mussolini, the English importation, was not granted by the authorities, and the roan horse has been entered for the improvers’ race at Epsom as Antonio Direct. The son of Wellington Direct is a boid pacer and has made many friends since his arrival. F. Smith received word during the week from England stating that two of the roan’s younger brothers, Tony Direct and King Charles, won races since Mussolini left the Old Country. Later, King Charles was successful in the Greenford Cup, one of the principal English events. There is no doubt about the right blood coursing through the veins of Wellington Direct, and it is blood that tells.
