IN “HAROLD-LLOYDS”

AMY JOHNSON HAS TO SHOP IN DISGUISE ACCEPTS GIFT PLANE United P.A.—By Telegraph—Copyright Reed. 10.55 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. Miss Johnson, disguised by wearing horn-rimmed glasses, shopped during the busiest hour in city stores on Saturday, and went unrecognised. Miss Johnson afterward spent some time flying a local Moth airplane over Sydney and the environs. In the afternoon she departed for an undisclosed destination in the country for a week-end rest. A British Official Wireless message from Rugby says the de Havilland Aircraft Company, makers of Miss Amy Johnson’s Linnet Gipsy Moth machine Jason, have cabled offering her a new Puss Moth high-speed touring monoplane in recognition of her magnificent flight. Miss Johnson, in cabling acceptance, says she has much desired to possess a Puss Moth, although “it will not make me forget the wonderful service given by my dear Jason.” The new machine will await her on her return to England next month.
