Hockey Dance
AUCKLAND CLUB CELEBRATES WINNING OF ! INTER-VARSITY TOURNAMENT j ENJOYABLE EVENING IN COLLEGE HALL To celebrate the winning of the i nter-varsity hockey tournament, the Hockey Club of the Auckland University held a most successful dance in the college hall on Saturday evening. Delightful dance music was supplied by Morgan's orchestra. Bowls of Iceland poppies and other autumntinted flowers decorated the supper room. Members of the committee present were: Miss M. Mawson had on a frock of lettuce green crepe de chine, with a deep iffem of tosca net. Miss R. Munro was in water-lily green taffeta and ring velvet. Miss J. Osborne chose a frock of ivory georgette, with a tiered skirt. AMONG THE DANCERS Mrs. Worley was gowned in a frock of black satin beaute. Mrs. Corbin's frock was of gentian blue georgette and lace. Mrs. Haynes was wearing a gown of cameo pink hand-painted georgette. Miss Joan Hankin was gowned in pajc pink taffeta, with flounced skirt and jade green coatee. Miss Rhoda Robertson chose a frock of cameo pink beaded georgette. Miss Betty Hemus had on a gown of flame georgette. Miss E. Milne was froeked in ivory embossed georgette. Miss Rose Hardie Neil wore black lace and georgette. Miss Betty Hitchings had on a periwink Jo blue taffeta frock. Miss V. Derham had on an anklelongth frock of peach blossom pink tafMiss Macshane was in shell pink georE? fc tte with Irilled skirt. Foubister was wearing an anKle-length frock of ivory lace with green hip bow. Ragles chose primrose moire taffeta with a flounced skirt. gowrf S Armitage was in a gold sequined Miss R. Wilson was in primrose floral satm beaute and georgette. Walker was wearing a frilled taffeta frock of deep rose. Miss Y. Orbell was wearing lettuce green satin beaute and tulle. Miss Freda Kenny chose a pretty frock or primrose floral georgette. Miss Sybil Davis chose apple-green crepe de chine and lace. .Miss Mollie Fitzpatrick was in firefly ring velvet appliqued with pastel flowers. Miss Pat Boscawen had on delphinium blue crepe de chine and gold lace. Miss Ruth Taylor wore peach pink satm beaute with a long frilled skirt, sa t Groc^er on pastel pink Miss Mavis Stokes wore a pretty frock of shell pink ring Velvet. Miss I. Hyauiason had on a pretty frock of gold lace and rose pink taffeta hip bow. Miss Beth Hughes was froeked in lemon floral chiffon. Miss N*. Somerville wore a frock of forest green beaded net. . An ankle-length frock of sunset pink moire taffeta and tulle was worn by Miss R. Cosgrove. Miss Betty Shenkin had on a leaf green georgette gown. Miss Rona Kelly had chosen a briarrose georgette frock. Miss Marie Jagusch was in eau de nil green satin beaute with godets of georgette. Miss B. Fulton was wearing sky blue beaded georgette. For her dance frock Miss Joan Fox ■ chose white georgette and lace, the long skirt had alternate frills of lace and satin ribbon. Miss Penelope Davidson wore a dainty frock of white georgette and silver lace, with a silver bolero over the corsage. Miss A. Garland's frock was of mist blue crepe de chine. Miss M. Grieve had on a larkspur blue lace frock. Miss Adams wore an ankle-length gown of bottle green ring velvet. Miss I. Totraan was in a blush rosetaffeta frock. Miss Franklin’s frock was of rose satin. Miss P. Young chose a dance frock of cie.l blue taffeta. Miss Welsh was in lacquer red georgette with an ankle-length skirt of tulle. Miss Knight was in a period frock of cerise and gold taffeta. Miss A. Robinson had on a wild-rose taffeta frock with a blue shoulder posy. Miss N. Robb chose a frock of rose pink moire' taffeta. Miss Elaine Robb was gowned in apple-green moire taffeta. Miss Zena Bishop had on a pink shaded ankle-length georgette frock. Miss Baurne was in cameo pink georgette aiM. gold lace. Miss i.aresnape was wearing a dainty frock of mist pink chenille georgette, with a long georgette skirt. Miss Melzie Johnston had chosen a frilled frock of leaf green georgette and tulle. Miss N. Paltridge was in lemon satin appliqued with blue. Miss Gatward had on a pastel pink sequined frock.
