Bright Social and Dance Evening PARTY AT MANGERE Another enjoyable dance evening .was given by the pilots and pupils of the Auckland Aero Ciub to their friends at the Oriental Rendezvous on Saturday. Many club members and their frtands went to Mangers and the gathering proved particularly bright. A toe dance given by Miss Maher during the evening was very much appreciated. AMONG THE GUESTS Mrs. Spencer Mason wore a very pretty gown of canton jade and rose embossed georgette. Mrs. Cadman was smartly gowned in black georgette. Mrs. Sneddon’s gown was of eidelweissblue georgette, with pointed draperies. Mrs. Henderson Smith had on a char-treuse-green lace frock. Mrs. J. Andrew wore black flowered ninon. Mrs. Lea had on a gown of rose taffeta, smartly combined with silver lace. Mrs. Leonard Chirm was in a bouffant frock of lido blue taffeta. Mrs. Whitcomb© wore leaf-green and silver lame. Mrs. Swan was gowned in sunset pink chenille embossed georgette. Mrs. Seabrook was wearing deep orchid-pink taffeta. Nlrs. Wiltshire had on a gown of black georgette and lace, mounted on palest pink chiffon. Mrs. Foley was wearing shell-pink georgette and tulle. Mrs. Caudwell wore Chinese red georgette, with beaded embroideries. Mrs. Howard Page had on black faille appliqued with net. Mrs. S. Andrews was in green flowered chiffon. Mrs. K. Boswell was wearing pale daffodil yellow satin beaute. Mrs. G. Shorland was in begonia pink chenille embossed georgette. Mrs; Boucher was gowned in turquoise blue satin beaute. Airs. S. Robertson wore a pretty frock of rose pink and black chiffon. Mrs. Colin Clarke was in an ivory period gown of georgette. Mrs. Copley was gowned in black chiffon velvet. Mrs. D. M. Allan wore an unevenlength frock of flowered georgette. Mrs. Ross was in a bouffant frock of peach pink taffeta. IVORY GEORGETTE Miss Xota Casey wore an ivory georgette frock, with beaded coatee. Miss P. McFarlane was in ivory tulle, with silver relief. Miss Bell wore a smart gown of black crepe de soie. Miss Brown was in a bouffant pink taffeta frock. Miss Warner’s pretty frock was of lido blue lace. Miss Rodgers wore coral pink lace and georgette. Miss Walker was wearing a distinctive gown of amethyst ring velvet. Miss H. Potter was froeked in nymph green taffeta. Miss M. Walker had on cyclamen ring velvet. Miss Mary Andrew wore pretty peach pink georgette, with pointed draperies. Miss Esme Andrew was froeked in ivory flowered satin. Miss Ovens had on a pink and forget-me-not blue taffeta frock. Miss Joyce Porter s frock was of flowered chiffon. Miss Lyle Johnson had on a smart frock of water green panne velvet and taffeta. Miss Eve Cassidy was in a lilac-tinted chiffon taffeta gown. Miss Potter wpre a flowered georgette frock. Miss Gladys Jackson was in leaf-green crepe de chine. Miss Clare Johnson wore black tulle mounted on chartreuse green chiffon. Miss Mansel was wearing a cherry crepe de chine frock, with lace flounces of the same shade. Miss Ogilvie was in a white flowered georgette frock, with fringed skirt. Miss Phileox wore a turquoise green georgette frock, with pointed draperies. Miss E. Baylis had on an uneven-length gown of flame satin. Miss McGettigan wore black crepe de soie, with shoulder spray of pink flowers. Miss Mackenzie was in a bouffant frock of pale primrose !• ffeta. Miss U. Russell was gowned in fuchsia taffeta. Miss Aileen Hare wore a pretty pink spotted lace frock. Miss E. Berridge was gowned in deep orchid pink crepe de chine. Miss Maher wore midnight blue taffeta, with, diamente relief. Miss P. Macltie had on lemon-tinted crepe de chine frock. Miss E. Pabst had on flowered blue taffeta, with bouffant skirt of uneven length. Miss P. Masefield wore a charming gown of citronne 'satin. Miss Evans wore burgundy red ring velvet. Miss Reta Hart’s gown was of amber spotted net. PLUNKET SOCIETY ANNUAL MEETING OF NGARUAWAHIA BRANCH The annual meeting of the Xgaruawahia branch of the Plunket Society disclosed a very satisfatcory position. The balance sheet showed the following credits:—Ngaruawahia centre, £144 19s 6d; Huntly sub-branch, £42; Taupiri sub-branch, £59; Te Kauwhata sub-branch, £IOB. The nurse’s report stated that during the year 6,319 cases had been dealt with, including a number at the homo. Various speakers congratulated the society on its good work and satisfactory position, and complimented the members of the committee. The principal officers were re-elected as follow’:—President, Mrs. J. Birkett; secretary, Mrs. T. Paterson;, treasurer, Mr. J. X). Joy. A strong committee and an advisory board were also elected. Mesdames Bright and George attended the meeting as representatives from the Huntly branch. MONTHLY MEETING AT TE . AWAMUTU The monthly meeting of the committee of the Te Awamutu branch of the Plunket Society was held last week, with the president, Mrs. H. J. Collins, in the chair. General satisfaction was expressed with the result of the recent deputation to the Borough Council, and the courteous consideration given to the cases put forward by the branch’s representatives. The secretary was instructed to forward a letter of thanks and acceptance of the terms outlined in the town clerk's letter. The resignation of Mrs. W. H. Wood from the committee, owing to her early departure from Te Awamutu, was accepted with regret. The president and secretary were appointed to make arrangements for a supply of Plunket material to be stocked in the town in future. The nurse’s report for the month of May showed 19 new cases. Visits: To the homes, 55; to the rooms, adults, 152. babies 128; older children, 25; total visits, 3GO; telephone calls, 30; babies under supervision, ISI, older children, 34: three weeks’ box donations, £1 Is 6d.
