PILLION-RIDER INJURED

LEG CRUSHED BY CHAIN Through having his leg caught In the chain of the motor-cycle, on the pillion of which he was riding, Harry Peebles, aged 17, of Millbrook Road, Henderson, was taken to hospital by the St. John Ambulance. It was found that Peeble’s leg was severely crushed. The accident occurred at about 8.30 p.m. yesterday at New Lynn. The cycle collided with a pedestrian, and the lad’s leg became firmly entangled in the chain. Neither the pedestrian nor the rider of the cycle was injured. Peebles received medical attention before being taken to the hospital. His condition this morning was reported to be satisfactory.
