NO CONGRATULATIONS
CRIME IN HAMILTON From Our Oivn Correspondent HAMILTON, Today. In the charge to the grand jury, at the opening o£ the Supreme Court today, Mr. Justice Herdman said he could noa congratulate the Hamilton district on the absence of crime. The present calendar was, he said, the heaviest he had ever had to deal with locally. There were 14 cases to consider. A true bill was returned against William Edward Murphy, married, charged with a serious offence against his 15-year-old daughter. For the first time in the town’s history the “Black Maria” made its appearance yesterday afternoon, when itarrived from Auckland filled with prisoners for trial.
