Lamb, Mutton And Beef Exports Show Increase The latest returns of the New Zealand Meat Producers Board for the six months of the current season ended March 31, reveal some interesting features, says the bulletin of the Department of Industries and Commerce. Substantial increases in the exports of all classes of frozen meat are recorded, except in the case of pork. As compared with the figures for the corresponding period of last season, exports of lamb increased by 254,147 carcases, mutton by 190,136 carcases, beef by 13,390 quarters, and boneless beef by 4195 Pork shipments, on the other hand, show a decrease of 20,368 carcases. The increase in exports of beef is mainly accounted for by larger shipments to London —44,470 quarters as against 9954. On the other hand, there has been a noticeable decrease in shipments to America, New York taking only 1411 quarters as against 24,147 quarters last season. Similarly, the increased shipments of mutton and loinb went mainly to London. The reduction in exports of pork is chiefly accounted for by smaller shipments to the West Coast ports of the United Kingdom. Beef shows ail increase of 41,681 quarters, million 581,242 carcases, and lamb 389.360 carcases.
