To sharpen a blunt sewing-needle, take a few stitches through a piece of fine sandpaper. When planting small flower seeds, mix them with some very fine earth, so that they may be scattered evenly and thinly. Use a wall-paper cleaner to remove spots and rust from yellow, buff and white window- blinds. ft. works like magic. WAXING THE LINOLEUM After new linoleum is laid, give it a coating of liquid wax. This will make it easy to sweep with a soft brush and dust with a dry mop. It can be cleaned occasionally with a cloth wrung out of lukewarm soapy water, and rinsed with clear water. TO KEEP EGGS HOT When serving meals to invalids, there is sometimes a danger of boiled or poached eggs becoming cool before they can be eaten. The following method keeps them piping hot. Put a buttered egg-cup in a pan of hot water, break in the eggs and cook thus. When done, place the cup on a plate and send it to the invalid at once. GREASE SPOTS Before repapering the walls of a [ room, cover all grease spots w ith a | heavy coat of shellac. This prevent* ; the grease from coming through on 1.0 ! the new wallpaper.
