TO CLEAN STAINED CHINA
To get rid of tea stains on china use I salt or bicarbonate of soda. Make i a paste of the soda and some warm I water and rub the stain gently until |it disappears. If salt is used, then put a little on to a damp cloth and rub the stain with it.
HARICOT MUTTON Cut two pounds neck of muttou into chops or small pieces. Melt the superfluous fat and in it fry the meat brown on both sides. Brown two sliced onions, then remove from the pan. Make a smooth paste of a tablespoonful of flour and water, and add to the melted fat. When the gravy is slightly brown add half a pint of hot water. Allow this to boil, then add pepper and salt, a dash of ketchup, and a small carrot and turnip which have already been parboiled and sliced. Replace the meat and onions in the pan, and simmer for about an hour.
