CLIMBERS DEFIED BY KUNCHINJUNGA PEAK GIVING UP FOR THIS YEAR Times Cable. Reed. 10.5 a.m. LONDON, Wed. Interviewed at Darjeeling, Messrs. Tobin and Hannah, members of the Kunchinjunga Expedition, who have returned, state that the expedition has abandoned hope of reaching the summit of Kunchinjunga this year and has broken camp. The expedition is now moving off in the direction of Jongsongla Pass, which had been crossed only once from Jongsongla. The expedition hopes to ascent Jongsong Peak, which is 24,300 ft high. After this climb the expedition will return through Nepal, thus completely rounding Kunchinjunga.
