TOTAL RATE OF 9d IN £
A consolidated rate of 9d in the £l, giving a total revenue of £43,296, was decided upon by the Takapuna Borough Council last evening, when it adopted the estimates for the year. The main items of estimated expenditure were: Streets maintenance, £5,000; hospital and charitable aid levy, £3,113; office administration, £1,510; street lighting, £1,400; refuse contract, £600; destructor expenses. £400; parks, £SOO. The water supply account showed estimated receipts, including a balance of £215 brought forward from the previous year, totalling £4,440. On the expenditure the principal items were: Purchase of water, £2.000: wages, £1,250; and meters, £ 200. The figures brought down show that the year will end up with an anticipated deficit of £612.
