Xo talking-picture artist lias jumped into public favour as quickly Maurice Chevalier, idol of the Freni:.-, stage, did in ‘ Innocents of Paris," his first picture. Now, in "The Love Parade." the headliner at the Crystal Palace, he easily upholds the great reputation he made for himself in hi* talkie debut. Komantic, full of vigou: and laughter, and smiles that can mean anything he chooses to mak - them, he is the possessor of a personality that has no equal. If he was good in his first film, "Innocents of Paris.” in The Love Parade” he is magnificent: for the latter film, with its much fuller story, gives him a great deal more opportunity to display the devastating charm of his smile and his intriguing French accent. A number of "shorts" complete bill.
