KING’S BIRTHDAY GAMES MATCHES ON VARIOUS GREENS A full rink tournament was played at the Auckland Bowling Club's greens yesterday. A total of 26 teams competed, four rounds of 12 heads being played. Results were: Section A.—Parsons, 3 wins; Allen, 3 wins; Ritchie, 2 wins; Nairn, 2 wins; Neil, 2 wins; Richmond, 4 losses. Parsons won the section. Section B.—Keatley, 4 wins; Antman. 4 wins; Muston, 2 wins; Clarke, 1 win; Duncan, 1 win; Bridges, 4 losses. Keatley won the section. Section C. —Wigley, 3 wins; Braekebush, 3 wins; Blackwell, 2 wins; Osmond, 2 wins; Hewitson, 1 win. Wigley won the section. Section D.—R. Graham, 3 wins; Fletcher, 3 wins; J. N. Hardley, 2 wins; Jones, 2 wins; Randall, 1 win; R. Wilson, 1 win. Fletcher won the section. The final will be played on Saturday. WAIRARAPA CHAMPIONSHIP VICTORY TO YOUNG PLAYER Press Association MASTERTON, Tuesday. The Wairarapa provincial golf championship was concluded today on the Lansdown links. J. Plornabrook, a young Masterton player, defeated H. A. Black (Hutt) in the championship final, 1 up at the 18th. Both players finished well, Hornabrook’s 4 for the 18th hole being the climax to a brilliant effort. A feature of the game was that only one putt was taken on each of the first seven greens. The semi-final resulted: Hornabrook beat B. Silk (Wanganui), 5 and 3; Black beat C. Armstrong (Hutt), 3 and 2. TAKAPUNA TOURNAMENT The Takapuna Bowling Club’s tourney was held yesterday, and provided : an interesting day’s sport for the 18 teams competing. The weather was very cold and against a good display of bowling. Five games of 10 heads were played. following were the

results: Section A. —Smith (Takapuna), 4 wins; Eagleton (Rocky Nook), 3 wins; Morgan (Devonport), 3 wins; Audiey (Takapuna), 2 wins; Denison (Dominion Road), 2 wins; Adamson (Grey Lynn). 5 losses. Section B. —Cutler (Takapuna), 4 wins; Bennett (Takapuna), 3 wins: Maher (West End), 3 wins; Perry ] (Carlton), 2 wins; Lowe (Devonport), 2 wins; Bridge (Te Papapa), J win. Section C.—Hanna (Takapuna), 3?; wins; Adeane (West End), 3£ wins; Ogilvie (Stanley), 3 wins; Fraser (Waitemata), 2 wins; Dick, (Grey Lynn), 2 wins; Thompson (Rawhiti), 1 win. The tie for section honours was won by Hanna. Semi-final.—Hanna. 8, v. Cutler, 4; Smith, a bye. The final between Smith and Hanna will be played off on a date to be arranged. ONEHUNGA CLUB The Onehunga Bowling Club’s annual full-rink tournament yesterday attracted 24 teams, divided into four sections. Each team played five ' games of 12 heads. Results:

Section A.—Keith (Pukekohe) and Diamond (St. Heliers), 4 wins each. In the playoff Keith beat Diamond. Section B was won by Gatland (Onehunga) with five wins. Section C was won by E. Merali (Grey Lynn) with 5 wins. Section D was won by Hooper (Epsom), 4 wins. The semi-final and final will be played on the Onehunga green on Saturday, when Emerali meets Keith and Gatland plays Hooper. Both these games will be of 11 heads each and the final will be of 15 heads. The final game of the club’s April allday tournament will also be played on Saturday. . D. J. O’Neill, S. Brown, J. K. Ross and A. Brown will meet J. E. Green, A. C. Tonkin, J. E. Cowell and S. Vella.

WINNERS AT CARLTON A club tournament was held on the Carlton green yesterday. 10 teams taking part in the play. The winners were Watson, J. Robertson, Foote and Fookes, with five wins, and the run-ners-up were Trendall, Doyle, Pitt and Kilgour, with four wins. HILLSBOROUGH TOURNAMENT The winning rink in the Hillsborough Bowling Club’s tourney yesterday was Oates. Buchan. Hill. Dick. NORTHERN WAIROA A. AND P. ASSOCIATION ELECTION OF OFFICERS The annual meeting of the Northern Walroa Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held in the Mititai Hall on Saturday, Mr. S. C. Pritchard presiding over a large attendance of mebers. The president’s report stated that a profit of £124 4s 7d had be’en made. The report and balance sheet were adopted. Officers elected were:—Patron, Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, M.P.;. president, Mr. Hugh Montgomery; vice-presidents, Messrs. C. F. Dassler and Robert Montgomery; auditor, Mr. A. L. Billing; Executive Committee, Messrs. J. Dodd, W. J. Curnow, G. H. Bradley, W. P. Begg, H. P. Sills, S. C. Pritchard, William Montgomery, J. G. Wilson and Jas. Montgomery. Mr. Jas. Montgomery’s motion to the effect that the rules be altered to provide that full prize money shall be paid, irrespective of the number of entries in any class, was carried. It was decided to hold a social, the net proceed* of which are to be donated to the Northern Wairoa branch of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. A social committee was appointed, comprising Messrs. William Montgomery, C. Sills, R. Wilkins, J. Dodd, Richard Montgomery, C. F. Dassler, A. E. Hard - ing and H. Montgomery.
