MAN GOES OVER FALLS IN STEEL BARREL
TOSSED ABOUT, BUT UNHURT
Reed. 9.5 a.m. VANCOUVER, Suilday.
A message from Niagara Falls says for the second time in his adventurous career, William (“Red”) Hill, the Niagara boatman, has defied the swirling currents and eddies of the whirpool and the lower rapids below the falls, and survived.
He made his' spectacular trip in a steel barrel which, for nearly four hours, was tossed about like a rubber ball, in the sight of 5,000 persons, including Mrs. Hill and her eight children. Hill suffered no ill-effects.
