IN THE CAPITAL OF SlAM.—Prince Mahidol of Songkla, who was heir- presumptive to the Throne of Siam, when he died six months ago was cremated recently at the crematorium of Phra Meru which was specially built in a public park near the Grand Palace. The Phra Meru is a structure of majestic splendour. The late Prince was a graduate of Harvard and had planned to devote his life to public health work. Photograph shows the urn containing the body of the late Prince (after the procession to the place of cremation) about to be borne into the Phra Meru and placed in the central dome.
