MERRY MELODY MAY PLAY A MERRY OLD TUNE

LIKELY OTAKI CANDIDATE One of the Otaki runners who strikes me as an improver sure to win races in the near future is Merry Melody, writes The Sun’s Wellington correspondent. He is a half brother to Merry Damon and should develop into a good handicap horse. His sole winning effort was performed at the recent Egmont meeting at Hawera, but he failed in his next attempt. However, it was not to his discredit altogether that he did not gain a place in that race, as he was deprived of his position. early in the contest and given little opportunity of regaining it. If Merry Melody is beaten on the first day his friends should not desert him, as he is sure to come right.
