SEVERE CAUTIONS
LEAGUERS WHO WERE ORDERED OFF A.R.L. EXECUTIVE MEETS Tlie Judicial Committee reported to the Management Committee of the Auckland Rugby League last evening that M. Watene, the City player who had been ordered off at Carlaw Park on Saturday, had been severely cautioned. The same action was taken in the case of J. Potter (Richmond). Sweeney, the Marist player who was also ordered off, did not appear, and thus his suspension will hold till he does so. Complaints were made about the crowd encroaching on the field of play at Victoria Park, which one member said was getting “over the odds.” The chairman pointed out at the previous meeting that the referee had the power to hold up the game till the crowd did get back and by enforcing this he could probably solve tlie question. The Ponsonby Club asked for procedure to be employed in the registration as a playing member of Syd O’Donnell The club stated that O’Donnell played for the Maritime Club in 1921. The Maritime Club was now non-existent and thus he could not get a clearance The Management Committee deferred consideration for a week to enable investigations to be made. The League decided to make a donation of £1 Is to the cocoa fund of the Auckland City District Schools’ Committee. MR. HAMMILL WITHDRAWS W. J, Hammill. who last week was nominated by tlie Auckland League for the position of financial manager of the New Zealand team in Australia wrote stating that his consent had not been received and accordingly lie wished his nomination to be with • drawn

The Northland League also asked that inquiry be made into the standing of Joseph Hamilton, who was now playing for Hikurangi, and was understood to have played before for Richmond (Auckland), and had not received a transfer from the Auckland Club.
