SCHOOL ROLL LIMITED

GRAMMAR BOARD’S DECISION That the, roll-number at the Auckland Grammar School next year is to be limited to 940. was a decision made at a meeting of the Auckland Grammar School Board yesterday. It is intended that similar restrictions on the rolls will be made in the case of other grammar schools in view of the present overcrowded position. According to a letter received by the board from Mr. J. D. Mahon, headmaster of the Auckland Grammar School, the maximum number in 1931 should be 940, with a gradual reduction to 800. It was decided to exercise the restriction, next . year .and to defer consideration of the policy for future years.
