OYSTER SEASON

MAY BE SOLD EARLIER THIS YEAR PERHAPS END OF JUNE In all probability the season for Auckland oysters will open early this year. Last year they were not on sale in the city until July 19, but from advance reports they may be- ready this year at the end of June. A preliminary survey of the beds in the gulf has yet to be made, This will be done shortly and if the shellfish are suitable, a start with the picking will be made toward the end of June, as a plentiful supply must be kept in hand to supply the reeds of the city.
