Hockey Dance
PURPLE AND GOLD MAKE EFFECTIVE DECORATIVE SCHEME • ANNUAL MANUREWA FUNCTION A canopy of streamers, in the club’s colours, purple and gold, made effective decorations, at the Parish Hall, Manurewa, on Monday evening, on the occasion of the annual dance of the Manurewa Women’s Hockey Club. A very enjoyable programme of dance music was supplied by Messrs, j Donaldson and R. Leslie, and several extras were contributed bv Miss j Sylvan Pegler and Mr. R. Harris. Tiie duties of masters of ceremonies were carried out by Messrs. L. M. Pegler and A. Crispe. Gaiety was added to the evening by a number of competition dances, which were won by Miss H. Maxwell and Mr. T. Osborne, spot waltz: Mr. C. Aitkenhead and Miss F. Willetts. Monte Carlo waltz; Mr. T. Hood, guessing competition. A dainty supper was served bv the members of the club. Among those present were: Miss Jean Smith, wearing a frock of geranium satin beaute; Miss F. WiMetts, • who wore a primrose georgette frock, | with diamente trimmings; Miss Z. Pegler. j whose frock was of mist blue georgette , and mnon, with flared skirt of tiny : frills; Miss Queen Kimber. dainty frock or embossed rose chenille; Miss M. Grind- I rod, who was wearing a frock of chenille ! velvet with diamente trimmings; Miss K. ; Grmdrod, who wore a frock of buttercup '• taffeta, relieved with silver; Miss A. 1 Crisp, in a frock of orange taffeta, with | trimmings of lace. Miss D. Roberts, whose frock was of beige satin and georgette; Miss Nance j Dempsey, who wore shell pink georgette; ' Miss W. Nield. rose beige satin with ankle-length skirt of lace; Miss R. Coxhead, whose frock was of iris mauve ! sequined georgette; Miss Jessie Harris, | wearing a frock of sunrise shaded taffeta: Miss V. McAuliffe, in a frock of paon blue crepe de chine; Miss C. A Harris, whose frock was of peach taffeta; Miss If. Maxwell, who was wearing a frock of peach shaded crepe de chine 1 and lace; Miss G. Maxwell, in a frock of leaf green crepe de chine; Miss J. Neil, who was wearing a frock of ashes of roses crepe de chine: Miss B. Murray, who was in flame georgette; Miss A. ' Gibbs, whose frock was of lichen green georgette; Miss Stella Beaumont, who was wearing a frock of shell pink
