A.A.A. AC TIVITIES

An extensive tour of the Bay of Plenty district will be made by a uniformed patrol of the A.A.A. shortly. Headlight testing will be started next week at Te Puke, on Friday and Saturday, May 30 and 31. He will visit Paengaroa on June 1 and Matata on June 6. The patrol will continue to Opotiki and Taneatua, and will visit most of the outlying settlements, extending whatever service lies in his power. The signposting patrol, who returned this week from North Auckland, is preparing a fresh lot of signs, and will leave shortly for the Waikato and lying Country. In preparation for next season’s touring the touring manager will leave the city early in June and will spend about four weeks in the lower half of the island revising details for the North Island Motorists' Road Guide, and the A.A.A. road map. He will meet the service officers of the various southern Automobile Associations and will confer with them on matters of mutual interest.
