MANUKAU CLUB HOLDS FIRST OF SEASON STREAMERS AND FERNS A very enjoyable e\-ening Avas held last Wednesday evening in the Blockhouse Bay Hall. Avhen the Manukau Basketball Club hel diis opening dance. Shadbolt, scarlet crepe de chine, with posy to tone; Miss N. Sommervell, black satin with overdress of lace: Miss I. Doncaster, sea-green georgette with shawl: Miss U. Drinnan. figured ring velvet; Miss C. Riesterer, black velvet with diamente trimmings; Miss C. Faulder, black georgette with uneven hein of lace; Miss M. Tyne, vieux rose ninon, uneven hem. Miss L. Wright, who chose an eau de nil lace frock, uneven hemline; Miss G. McDonald, beige crepe de chine; Miss P. Heron, blue crepe de chine: Miss M. Wall, blue taffeta; Miss A. Heron, sky blue georgette; Miss S. Reid, black satin; Miss J. Renshaw, in lemon satin and silver lace; Airs. Hollier, cream satin beaute with pearl trimmings: Miss M. Blumenthal, almond green satin beaute with lace overdress; Miss J. Bryan, nile green crepe de chine, with sequins; Miss S. Bennett, pale green net; Miss E. Somervell, flame taffeta Avith oriental trimmings: Miss K. Bryan, black ring velvet and saxe blue embroidery; Miss G. Pearson, seagreen crepe de chine; Miss M. Breese, scarlet satin beaute with chenille; Miss i J. Harrison, pink velvet and georgette; Miss A. Gordon, black ring velvet with silver trimmings; Miss K. Bissett, white georgette relieved with shell pink; Miss F. Keary, green georgette; Mrs. McCurdy, peacock blue satin and net; Mrs. Gifford, fawn crepe de chine trimmed with blue; Mrs. Parker, black satin and lace; Mrs. Bryan, figured satin beaute; Miss K. Hassall, cream satin Avith overdress of lace. MATAMATA NEWS Mr. and Mrs. .1. F. Wells have returned from Wellington. Mr. and Mrs. A. W. Swinbourne are visiting Whangarei. Mrs. A. Ferguson, who lias been the guest of Mrs. A. S. Thirlwall, Hinuera Road, has returned to Hamilton. Miss M. Stansfield has returned to Te Kuiti, after spending the vacation with Mrs. Clyffe Taylor. Mrs. Rigby, who has been visiting Mrs. T. R. Bluclt. Taihoa, returned home on Monday.
