OPOTIKI BRIDE IN GRACEFUL GOWN OF IVORY SATIN

Walker, Auck- | land > was celebrated at St. John’s j C hutch. Opotiki, on Tuesday morning. ■ The Rev. David I-iird, 31. A., performed j ] the ceremony. .The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a frock of ivory satin beaute made with a tightfitting bodice, embroidered with beads. The full-flared skirt had an uneven hemline which drooped j toward the side and back. Her ; embroidered veil was held in place | by sprays of orange blossom. She j carried a shower bouquet of pink flowers and maidenhair fern. In attendance as bridesmaid was Miss Beach Hardie-Xeil. Auckland, who wore an ankle-length frock of apple green georgette and lace. Around the flared skirt were circles of

pink flowers. She wore a green felt hat to tone, and carried a bouquet of shaded pink flowers. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. Ronald Meggitt (South Africa) as best man. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents, the rooms being decorated with autumn flowers. Mrs. Vanstone, the mother of the bride, received her guests wearing a frock of navy crepe de chine, a navy flared coat and black hat. She carried a posy of mauve flowers. Mrs. Walker, the bridegroom’s mother, was in navy crepe de chine, with beige georgette trimmings, and a hat t<s tone. Her bouquet was of autumn-shaded flowers. The bride left for her honeymoon wearing a smart tailored costume of bottle green, with a felt hat to match, furs completing the ensemble. Among the guests were Mr. and 'Mrs. James Young, Mr. and Mrs. Claude Vanstone, Mr. and Mrs. George Vanstone, Messrs. Ambrose, Martyn and Wilfred Vanstone, Mr. and Mrs. Sumner, Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair. Mr. Frank Sumner, Rev. and Mrs. Hird. Mr. and Mrs. P. Burton, Mr. and Mrs. W. Gault, Miss Xita Xeilson, Miss Benita Short, Mrs. A. Xeilson. Mr. George Xeilson. Mr. and Mrs. Hambly, Miss X. White, Miss Tui Hambly. Mr. R. Hedley, Mr. Ronald Smith, Mr. Laurence Sinclair.
