SHEAF OF LILIES
TWO ATTENDANT MAIDS IN ROSE JOHNSTON—HUGHES The wedding was celebrated at St. Paul’s Church, Symonds Street, on Wednesday afternoon, of Emma, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Hughes, of Cubrathaine, Ranfurly Terrace, Mount Roskill, and (Oswald Eric, son of Mr. and Mrs, A. J. W. Johnston, of Te Awamutu. The Rev. C. A. B. Watson performed the ceremony. The bride, who entered the church on her father’s arm, wore a period frock of moire with long sleeves. Her veil of embroidered tulle was arranged with a juliet cap and sprays of orange blossoms. She carried' a sheaf of lilies. Wearing an ankle-length frock of rose georgette, Miss Mabel and Miss Myrtle Hughes, sisters of the bride, at-' tended as bridesmaids. They wore grey felt hats swathed with* velvet ribbon and they carried bouquets of pale pink flowers. Mr. Leslie Johnston acted as best man and Mr. Russell Butler was groomsman. Mrs. Hughes, mother of the bride, received her guests wearing a frock of navy and beige georgette, with navy silk hat and coat. Mrs. Johnston was frocked in black silk, with a hat to tone and a mole silk coat.
