HEADMASTER REMANDED

FACES SERIOUS CHARGE Press Association GISBORNE, Today. A remand for five days was granted in the Police Court this morning in the case in M'hich Norman McLeod Martin, aged 33, headmaster of the country school, was charged with indecently assaulting a youth of 20, on May 20. Bail was allowed. The position of the Education Board in the matter was explained by a member of the board, Mr. Wauchop, who said that even if criminal proceedings had not been taken accused would have been suspected, and a committee had inquired into the rumour. Martin, however, had resigned.
