CRICKETER OF REPUTE WHO BATTED IN AUCKLAND Reed. 9.5 a.m. LONDON, Friday. The death has occurred of C. H. Titchmarsh, the cricketer. Titchmarsh, who was known to the cricket world as *Titch.” was born on February 18, 1881. He played for Hertfordshire and in 192 3 toured New Zealand with the English team which was captained by A. C. MacLaren, and included A. P. F. Chapman and A. P. Freeman. “Titeh” was responsible for an outstanding batting display against Auckland. his late-cutting being about the finest ever seen on Eden Park.
