BRITISH AMBASSADOR'S NEW HOME. —The new embassy at Washington has just been completed for S Ronald Lindsay. The cost of the building was over £200,000 and it was provided with vaults for liquor, although is as yet uncertain whether the new Ambassador will revoke the dry edict of his predecessor.
