EL DIRECT’S BIG TASK

AFTER winning the mile saddle at Forbury Park the first day in 2.13 3-5 from a 2.16 mark and registering 2.12 1-5 on the final day to score off a 2.14 mark, the speedy El Direct appears on 2.13 in the saddle heat at Addington on May 31. Entering a tighter class the Hawera pacer is still 36 yards behind the front I'ot, but after his brilliant showings at Dunedin his admirers will not feel disposed to neglect him... Teremoa, off the front, won a 2.19 saddle go at Ashburton in 2.11 4-5 and a repetition of this form would make El Direct’s task seem impossible. The latter, however, is one of the bulldog breed and if started will be very handy at the finish.
