GOVERNMENT TO CONTROL ALL NEW WORKS LEVY TO OPERATE JULY 1 Reed. 10.50 a.m. SYDNEY, Today. Wages, hours and conditions on any work financed by the £3,000.000 to be raised by tbe wage-tax of 3d in the £, are to be determined by the Government. This was announced by the State Treasurer. Mr. B. S. Stevens in the New South Wales State Assembly, when he introduced the third of the Government’s series of Economic Bills. He said all salaries and wages would be taxed from July 1.
