LIPTON’S CHALLENGER WINS THREE RACES LEAVES FOR U.S.A. SOON Reed. 1.5 p.m. RDGB¥, Tuesday. Sir Thomas Upton’s America’s Cup challenger, Shamrock V. won her third successive event today, when she finished first in a race from Hardwick to Southend. Shamrock V. will leave for America about the middle of July and will go via the Azores. It will be accompanied by the convoy Erin, which will carry a big supply of oil. This will be freely used in bad weather. ,
Experts anticipate the yacht will ride the sea well. She will have a crew of 22 and will carry one month’s rations of food and fresh water.
