Th© Governor-General, Lord Bledisioe and Lady Bledisloe will attend the Empire Ball at the Scots Hall this evening. Mr G. C. Munns, M.P. for Roskill, left for Wellington last evening. The Hon. C. J. Carrington, M.L.C., arrived by the Limited express today. Mr. R. L- Ritchie, of Timaru, arrived by" the Limited express this morning. Dr. H. Douglas has been elected president of the Hamilton Rotary Club. Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., who has been absent from duty owing to ill - ness, resumed his duties at the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Mr. J. A. Jamieson, of Te Puke, was admitted as a solicitor of the Supremo Court by Mr. Justice Herdman yesterday, on the motion of Mr. J. C. Dromeool. Sir Maui Pomare left Wellington yesterday by tho Makura for San Francisco, on his way to Los Angeles. He is seriously ill and has been ordered to seek a more genial climate for the winter.
