Messrs. E. V. Blake, Hill, G. AN'. Hutghison and C. K. Grierson. chairman briefly outlined the history of the association since its inception in March. 1927. At present the membership stood at 146 and the financial statement showed a. credit balance of £36. while outstanding subscriptions would increase thai amount to over £IOO.
Mr. Hutchison considered that now the Town Planning Institute of New Zealand was in existence, the association could not well continue. #By becoming part of the Dominion body th** local members would be able to wield a greater influence. Since there wan no machinery in existence for affiliation with the institute, it would be necessary for the association to dissolve and its members to form a branch of the institute. Provision, however, would be made for the safeguarding of the association’s financial interests.
The chairman moved a resolution recommending the association to take steps to wind up on the terms he had indicated. The motion was carried unanimously.
