FAREWELL FUNCTION

TWO PRESENTATIONS A very pleasant afternoon was spent on Thursday at Opotiki, when the women of St. Alary’s congregation met to bid farewell to the Rev. Alotlier and Alotlier Bibiana, who are both leaving St. Alary's Convent to take up their duties in another district. The Rev. Father Smiers, on behalf of those present, presented the Rev. Alother with a handsome travelling rug and Alother Bibiana with a box of stationery, and conveyed the heartfelt good wishes of the congregation. The Rev. Alother, in a charming little speech, thanked those present for their handsome gifts. A dainty afternoon tea was served.
