STOCK NOT TO BE SOLD DIRECT TO PUBLIC When the Christchurch and Auckland warehouses of Macky, Logan, Caldwell. .Ltd., are closed on July 19 the stock will not be sold direct to the public. In a report statins that the firm was closins its Christchurch and Dunedin branches it was said that the whole of the stock from those two warehouses would be sold direct to the public. This should have read that the whole of the stock with the premises may be sold to a concern going direct to the public. The managing director, Mr. T. H. Macky, in a letter to the firm’s Southern customers states: “We do not propose to disturb the trade b J any abnormal jobbing as we have arranged for our Wellington and Auckland houses to make allowance for the ’carry-over' stock in the Southern branches.”
