DOMINION’S GOOD EFFORT
BUTTER AT BRITISH INDUSTRIES FAIR WELL DISPLAYED A warm compliment to the New Zealand Department of Agricul- j ture was paid by Mr. A. A. Goodhew, deputy-Mayor of Goulburn, Australia, for its work at the British Industries Fair. Mr. Goodhew, who. is interested in the fruit industry, is returning from England on the Niagara. T_TE said that at the fair New ZeaA -*- land had presented a very fine display, the butter section being particularly good. The butter was well and from an advertising point of view it was very effective. In Glasgow he noticed that the best New Zealand butter was selling for Is 4cl a pound. In Australia the same, butter cost them 2s 3d, which he found hard to understand. Of all the Dominions. however, Canada was making the greatest efforts in advertising, said Mr. Goodhew. They had splendid displays at the Fair, mainly because the manufacturers had co-operated with the Government in arranging large and comprehensive displays. He was very disappointed- at the Australian effort and had written out to Australia criticising the poor attempt made.
