PONSONCY BRANCH The Ponsonby branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union met in St. Stephen’s Hall on Thursday afternoon. Miss Read presided ovei a good attendance. It was decided Ui hold a social on Thursday, May 29. bid farewell to Mrs. Lee Cowie and the Misses Pyle, who are leaving Auckland shortly for Honolulu. Mr." L. E. Fal cner was the speaker for the afternoon, and gave a most interesting talk on “The Possibilities of Service which could be rendered by the women of New Zealand.” especially emphasising the need of thi3 among the young women and girls of our city today. Afternoon tea brought a very enjoyable afternoon to a close. OTAHUHU BRANCH Tha monthly meeting of the Otahuliu Women's Christian Temperance Union was held in the Presbyterian School Hall on Thursday afternoon. The president. Mrs. Eccersall, was in the chair, and Mrs. Brady took the devotional part. Mrs. Richards. from Taka puna, the Auckland district vicepresident. kindly gave a very interesting report of recent convention •which was held in Timaru.
