KITCHEN EVENING FOR BRIDE-TO-BE
ENJOYABLE OTAHUHU PARTY Mr. and Mrs. T. J. Flood entertained a number of guests at a kitchen evenins held at their residence, 41 Huia Road. Otahuhu, recently, in honour of Miss Marjorie Peace and Mr. A. Meredith, who are to be married very soon. The drawing-room was prettily decorated with coloured streamers in shades of mauve and gold, and bowls of gold and white chrysanthemums. The evening was spent in cards, dancing, and competitions. Items were contributed by Miss Mavis Ilewson, pianoforte solo; Mrs. Turner, Mrs. Walters, Miss Turner, and Mr. G. W. Venables, vocal solos. The successful competitors were Miss Enid Pearce and Mr. C. Morgan. After supper had been served, a large cracker in gold and mauve was brought into the drawing-room, containing many gifts. Mr. Flood, in a few happy words, wished the guests of honour all future happiness. Mr. Meredith suitably responded. X iss Flood received the guests in a pretty frock of ashes of roses georgette. Miss Pearce wore a l'rock of air force blue georgette with appliqued roses in silver and taffeta.

Morgan, Mr. and Mrs. Christian, Mr. and Mrs. J. Gillies, Mr. and Mrs. Hickson, Misses E. Pearce, Carson. Hewson (2), Baverstock (2), Aicken, Tucker, Turner. Mr. V. Pearce.
