It was Miss Agnes Woodward who organised the famous birdwhistling chorus in America. WARDROBE MISTRESS For 1G years Mrs. Phyllis Nelson has been wardrobe mistress to the 1,600 performers in the Ringley, Barnum and Bailey circus, designing and making costumes for all the animals, which include 75 elephants, the same number of camels, S 6 horses, and many other creatures such as donkeys, zebras, monkeys, dogs, cats, etc. She declares that the animals are very proud of their gay costumes, and that the monkeys always desire a mirror when they are being fitted. AN AUSTRALIAN WRITER Miss Myra Morris, the well-known Australian writer, has left for England to find her niche in the literary world of the Mother Country. She intends seeking “colour” in Devon, Somerset, and Cornwall, and will tour these counties by bicycle.
