YOUNG BINGEN YOUNG, BINGEN last year after winning an improvers’ heat in harness ran a couple of creditable races with the weight on top. At Ashburton he was narrowly beaten by Mavis Wood, and on the same course a month later he was third to Exclusive a N nd Baby Logan in a
“heads” finish. Each time the Nelson Bingen gelding went 2.17 2-5. This year he has twice been just topped off in saddle items, Cushla d’Or defeating him at Timaru and E! Direct being his conqueror at New Brighton. In both these heats Nelson Bingen's son registered 2.15 2- 5. Off the front of a 2.18 class sadde contest at Oamaru Young Bingen should have a good chance of making amends.
