PARISHIONERS MEET

ALL SAINTS’, PONSONBY A deficit of £137 in the church’s finances ivas reported at the annual meeting- of parishioners of All Saints', Ponsonby, this week. It was stated that in comparison with the accounts of the previous year a decided advance toward a sound position had been made, as the ordinary receipts showed an inincrease of £227, and the envelope system had been a success, with little effect on the amount of open collections. The permanent church building fund stood at £ 6,886, and the new organ fund stood at £415.

Officers were elected as follow: v estry, Messrs. A. FGchmond, C. Aicken, A. Jenkins. P. Stewart, W. Manning, W. J. Hunter, E. Smith, C. Morley, Mrs. Palmer and Mrs. Billingtc.n; people’s warden. Mr. .T. ,T. Laws' vicar’s warden, Mr. A. Blackman.

ST. HELIERS ANGLICANS The Rev. C. I-louchen presided over the annual meeting of parishioners of St. Philip’s Church, St. Heiiers. Mr. Houchen referred in his report to the efforts of the vestry and the women’s guilds in reducing the parish liabilities by £2OO. The following officers were appointed:—Messrs. Hancox, Jordan. R. Glover-Clark, Grose, Gealer, F. Innes, Brown, W. A. Blackman, F. Baskett and Captain Ashdown.

BIRKENHEAD ANGLICANS A satisfactory credit balance and an increase in attendances for the year Avere shown by the report of the All Saints’ Anglican Church, Birkenhead, presented at the annual meeting of parishioners on Wednesday evening-. The vicar. the Rev. P. C. Davis,'who presided, said that regular monthly Sunday afternoon services would be started on the fourth Sunday in June at Greenhithe, instead of the weeknight serA'ice. The finances of the parish had decidedly improved as a result of the duplex system, with Mr. A. R. Bicknell as secretary. The report showed a credit balance of £23. The total receipts were £424. of which the offertories amounted to £322. The attendances totalled 5.696. an increase of 107.

The folloAving officers were elected: Vicar’s warden, Mr. A. R. Bicknell: people’s warden. Mr. R. Brooks; vestry. Messrs. V . A. Trist, H. W. Cooper W”. Messenger. W. H. Havill. G. Collins. L. S. F. Bell; auditor. Mr. L. S. F. Bell.
