NAVAL DISCUSSIONS COST BRITAIN £16,600 SAVING IN SHIPS SCRAPPEL LONDON, Wednesday. The Parliamentary Under-Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Mr. H. Dalton, stated in the House of Commons today that the Five Powers Naval Conference cost Britain £16,600 and lasted 91 days. Mr. Dalton stated that he could not say' what would be the total reduction in personnel resulting from the treaty, but the cutting-out of five capital ships within two years would mean » paving of 2,500 officers and men, without resorting to special methods.
