TAUMARUNUI BOXING
RACE NIGHT FIXTURE From Our Own Correspondent TAUMARUNUI, Tuesday. A very attractive programme is announced by the Taumarunui Boxing Association for its tournament, to be held on the evening of the local races. May 24. The big event will be a fistic argument between Jack Paul (Australia) and Fred Fraei (Auckland), who will contest the right to a purse of £loo_and expenses. Both men are well-known and popular smiters, and the association is meeting with a great deal of congratulation on venturing to stage an event of such wide interest. The fight will be in 10 three-minute sessions. Tommy Collins (Auckland) and Jock Wilson (Frankton) will debate a six two-minute rounds event, and this also promises to be well worth seeing. Six other bouts with competitors from the schools at Oliakune, Te Kuiti and Taumarunui are scheduled, and, taken all round, the projected programme is a very ambitious one for a small association to put on.
