VESSEL DISABLED

TOWED FROM EAST CAPE A mishap to the engines of the motor-vessel Margaret W. occurred at four o’clock on Friday afternoon off East Cape, when the timing wheel of a j motor broke. The vessel arrived at | Auckland this morning in tow of the Gisborne tug Pelican. On April 3. , a broken tailshaft coupling disabled the I Margaret W. The weather was calm when the recent accident happened, so the ship j anchored until the Pelican arrived. She w-as on her way from Gisborne to Auckland, and was towed into Hicks Bay to load sheep and to effect tem- • porary repairs. The two vessels arrived at Motutapu this morning to unload the sheep. The motor-vessel in to berth at King’s Wharf to load Gisborne cargo while repairs are being j carried out, and it is expected that J will sail as usual tomorrow.
