INSPECTOR LOSES RACE

MOTORIST TOO FAST FOR HIM MORE THAN 50 M.P.H. For driving his car in a manner liable to be dangerous to the public Trevor R. Brett was convicted and fined £3 by Mr. F. H. Levien, S.M., in the Otahuhu Police Court this morning.

Inspector E. H. Barrett. Main Highways Board, said that defendant’s car travelled from Otahuhu toward Penrose and passed him at 40 miles an hour. Witness gave chase, but failed to overtake him. During the chase, defendant s car exceeded 50 miles an hour, till his car was blocked by traffic on the Penrose overhead bridge There was considerable pedestrian traffic at the time. Defendant hart been convicted on a previous occasion.
