MAN SHOWS EXTRAORDINARY NERVE Showing remarkable fortitude when his finger was caught.in a seed-drill, Roy Nunn, of Ballarat, cut it off with a pocket knife to free himself. Nunn was operating the drill on a farm at Burrumbeet, when the index finger of his left hand was caught in the cogs. A young man attempted to operate the drill to free Nunn, hut was unable to do so. Nunn was suffering greatly and asked the man to cut off his finger. He shrank from doing so, however, and Nunn, with extraordinary nerve, opened his pocket-knife and severed the finger himself. He was driven to the hospital, where the finger was properly treated and dressed.
