RIALTO, NEWMARKET
“THE SKY HAWK" With the warfare between Zeppelins and the London air defences during the World War as its basis, “The v Sky Hawk,” which is now at the Rialto Theatre, is one of the most Ihrillingr
e the most thrilling productions on record. Much of its interest is due to its being the first all-talking Movietone romanee of the world aflight. Containing many spectacular scenes of London terrorised by the air raids, and with a gripping climax in which one of the giant airships is shot down in flames, “The Sky Hawk” ranks among the very few of its type and treats all the combatants impartially. John Garrick, known on the stage here as Reginald Dandy, the youthful British actor aviator, acknowledged as the season’s talking screen find, is splendidly cast in the title role, and Helen Chandler is a delightful heroine. Excellent talkie supports are also being shown. During the school holidays next week a special matinee will be presented at the Rialto every afternoon. The chief attraction will be a wonderful natural history picture entitled “Maya the Bee,” an eduucational but thrilling feature that took years to film, and will be enjoyed by young and old. Stanley Fields, for eight years an outstanding comedian in vaudeville, plays the menacing role in “Street of Chance,” a Paramount all-talking picture, starring William Powell. Kay Francis plays the leading feminine role.
